Duane Biggs – Owner & Operator, Oak & Iron Builders

Duane Biggs is the owner and operator of Oak and Iron Builders, a premier construction company based in Sumner County, Tennessee. A native of Sumner County and the New Deal community, located between Portland and White House, Duane comes from a family that is deeply rooted in both construction and farming. His lifelong experience in these trades has given him a strong foundation in craftsmanship, work ethic, and attention to detail.

Founded in 2024, Oak & Iron Builders specializes in residential and commercial construction, offering a full range of services from the initial design phase to a fully completed, lock-and-key project. With a commitment to quality and excellence, Duane and his team bring expertise, precision, and a passion for building to every job, ensuring clients receive exceptional results tailored to their vision.

Whether constructing a custom home, renovating an existing space, or developing a commercial property, Oak & Iron Builders stands as a trusted name in Middle Tennessee for integrity, craftsmanship, and reliability.

Duane grew up in New Deal, Tennessee, where his grandfather C.D. Biggs was a farm owner and operator and residential and commercial contractor. His other grandfather, Jesse Bradley, was a resident of Gallatin, and both sides of the family were actively involved in Southern Gospel music and singing careers. That led him to a life of dedication to music and his family, including singing with his father Larry, brothers Andy and Tim, and other members of their friends and family.

He has been active in his faith and community where he served as a pastor and also a high school baseball coach. Ministry has taken him out of Middle Tennessee on a couple of occasions. Duane and his family moved to Southwest Indiana in 2005 where he started a small company in residential roofing, soon expanding into home additions and remodels. In 2016, Duane was tasked with leading a church through a design/build project as they recovered from a devastating fire. This introduced Duane to church building, which he has done ever since. Upon Returning to his Tennessee home from Mississippi, Duane took over the Project Manager duties for commercial contractor Design Construction, where he has led projects like (included in photo gallery):
